Greetings and
salutations all! Getting back into the
groove after a little R&R! Looks
like we don’t have much going on right now with just some knee high surf around
town. Sunday to pick up just a hair out of the NW and it looks about knee
high and waist high sets. Surf picks up a little for Monday and into Tuesday
with waist high waves. Looks like a
little hiccup of WNW windswell for Wed/Thurs
with waist high surf. Looks like the
funky jet stream is pulling a number on us and sending a TON of surf directly
to Hawaii but
leaving very little for us. The big
swell that will hit the islands this week will reach us late Friday and into Saturday but we’re looking at chest/shoulder high surf out of the
WNW. It’ll be a nice pick up from the
week of relatively small waves but definitely not Opening Day at any of the
local winter breaks. Not to mention it’ll be fairly short lives with surf with
the swell peaking Saturday morning (crowded much?) and chest/shoulder high surf
diminishing fairly quickly through the day.
Sunday will have some
leftover waist/chest high surf and then things get kind of quiet again around
town.
The weather is
also pulling a number on us…as the two are related of course! We’re looking at some dense fog in the early
AM and late PM with late morning clearing and air temps in the high 60s for Sunday
through Tuesday. Then we have some
interesting heat building in for the end of the week with high 70s/low 80s for
Wed through Friday before cooling back down into the high 60s again for the
weekend. Winds look to be light out of
the NE in the AM and out of the W by the afternoon. Water temps are definitely cooling down with low
to mid 60s everywhere. Tides are
starting to swing a little more with a medium low in the mid-morning pushing to
a medium high late afternoon draining out for the end of the day. More extreme tides are we move into the work
week with higher morning tides draining out all day and pushing up for the
evening sessions.
Looks like some
fun surf potentially on the way for the end of the week with some smaller stuff
for the rest of the week.
Stay wet San Diego…the big stuff
is bound to get here eventually!
