South swell and sunshine!

Hola!  We’re looking at the backside of some WNW windswell with some background steep S swell.  Friday morning is looking to start off in the waist high range with some chest high windswell sets.  Size tapers off through the day with thigh/waist high waves by evening and into Saturday morning.  A little WNW swell moves in later in the day with size picking up to waist/chest high for Sunday.  The swell peaks midday Sunday and then backs off. The good news is that there’s a SW swell that will be filling in through the day.  Monday we’ll see waist high waves out of the SW with some smaller waves lingering from the WNW.  Slightly bigger sets in the northern end of the county and at the better summer spots.  Size holds in the waist/chest high range out of the SW for Tuesday and Wednesday with only a slight drop by Thursday.  A bit of NW will show Wednesday but the SW will dominate.  The northern hemi is quieting down a bit but the southern hemi looks to be active with a few smaller SW swells brewing.  Summer is just around the corner.

Weather wise we’re looking at a few days of cooler weather, clouds and even a slight chance of showers Friday night and into Saturday.  Air temps in the low 60s til Sat and then things turn around Sunday. Air temps bump up into the high 60s along the coast by Monday and by Tuesday we’re looking at high 70s and low 80s.  Temps back down to the high 60s for the end of the week but it’ll be mostly sunny all week.  Winds will keep up out of the NW thru Sat night.  Things calm down Sunday and we should see some NE winds by Tuesday.  Winds back to their normal pattern for the second half of the week; calm AM and moderate NW winds by afternoon.  There’s a low tide first thing in the morning rising up to a medium high midday and then back out to a medium low by nightfall.  Water temps are up early this year…mid-60s along most of the coast.  It feels nice!
