Greetings Earthlings! We’re looking at the tail end of some NW wind, WNW groundswell and a hint of fading SW. Surf in the waist/chest range with the rare shoulder high set. Looking for about the same for Thursday…slightly smaller and decreasing to waist high for Friday. Look for a new SW ground swell to move in late Fri and into Sat morning but surf really only hitting waist high. Knee to waist high at best for Sunday and Monday with the last tidbits of that SW. Tuesday looks like our next best bet for some surf but it’s a small low energy NW swell…surf back up into the waist high range. The good news is that the southern hemisphere looks like it’s waking up and has good potential to dish out some juicy SW groundswell if the projections are correct. But the crystal ball gets foggy that far out so we’ll have to wait for the weekend update.
Speaking of foggy…we’re in for morning and evening marine layer (aka FOG) for the next 4-5 days. Look for clearing along the coast by late morning/midday and then that marine layer will roll back in at sunset. At least the midday temps are looking to hit the mid60s tomorrow and up to the mid70s by Saturday and Sunday. Warmer nighttime temps too with the foggy blanket keeping us insulated. Water temps are hiking up ever so slowly with the increasing SW swells. The offshore buoys are reading in the high 50s and even a 60 degree reading here and there. Might be time to lose the booties! There’s some decent water movement early early in the morning with a little tide push mid-morning before dropping out to a medium low mid-afternoon. The big tide swing is overnight with lots of water movement as we’re all counting sheep! New Moon on Saturday!
