Greetings
SoCal! Wind swell is the name of the
game for the next few days. We’re seeing
a little bump up in size at least and conditions have been on and off…good and
bad. Look for some waist high NW wind
swell for Sunday and a little more swell for Monday…waist/chest. Looking
for a new S groundswell to start filling in late Monday. Size should start to pickup overnight and
Tuesday morning looks like some super inconsistent chest/shoulder high surf at
the best summer spots. The angle on this
S is aimed pretty steep so most of SD County will probably be missed by this
swell and will see more NW wind swell for most of the week. Tuesday
the peaks in the afternoon with some shoulder/HH surf. Then we’re looking for the surf to back off Wed…starting in the chest/shoulder
range and dropping into the chest high range.
Thursday we’ll keep seeing
more waist/chest high surf to start the day with waist high for the evening
session on into Friday. The southern hemi will be sending another S
swell but the angle is completely wrong for San Diego and even most of OC. North LA maybe but not much more of
SoCal.
Oh Mother Nature
is just cruising through spring weather.
She’s taking her sweet time.
Cloudy skies, more south winds and even a little chance of drizzle is on
the books for the next few days. Tuesday
is the first day that we’ll see a bit more sunshine. Air temps in the low 60s/high 50s thru
Tues. Wed is our turn around day with
sunshine air temps in the high 60s/low 70s around the coast. Thurs and Friday are looking like beach days…high
70s. Slightly lower air temps but still plenty of sunshine for the
weekend. South winds thru Tues and then
more N and W winds take over as that sunshine pushes its way to our coastline. SE
winds forecasted for Monday morning.
S winds slide back into town
Sunday. Tides are moving the most in the
morning with a near zero low tide for the dawn patrol and moving to a medium
high by early afternoon then back out again very slightly in the early evening. Water temps are creeping up ever so slightly…high
50s. Probably a little warm up later
this week as we have some sunshine and that S swell pushes some warm water up.
Finicky conditions
for the next few days but some nice weather on tap for the end of the week with
the tail end of that steep groundswell.
Heading for the
beach next weekend…SPF y’all!
