Howdy So Cal! Some funky surf out there this weekend along
with drizzly conditions. We had some decent
overnight drizzle/rain in parts of the county so heads up on the run off
locations. Surf looks like it’s going to
remain in the knee to waist high range for Monday
with a little NW wind swell and little change for Tuesday. Look for a small SW to fill in late Tuesday with some waist high surf for Wednesday afternoon. We’ll also see some more NW wind on Wed/Thurs with size picking up into the
waist /chest range with some shoulder high sets possible for Thursday as the
swell peaks at the better winter spots. Things
back down a little Friday with
wait/chest the norm as conditions also clean up for the end of the week. The start of the weekend’s looking pretty small with the last of the NW and SW swell
putting out knee to waist high surf. The
good news is that it looks like we’re going to catch some NW groundswell from a
storm that’s swinging low out of the N. Pacific. Of course, if you’re looking for the BIG
stuff I’d head to the Islands for this one…it’s
gonna land right in their swell window with a BANG!
Weather is going
to continue to be kind of ugly for a few days with west winds over night and
cloudy and cooler (high 60s) Monday and Tuesday with slight chances of
showers. Wed looks to start to clear up
with sunnier skies and a few degrees warmer.
The end of the week should see mostly sunshine and clear skies with air
temps back into the high 70s and low 80s by Saturday. Expect some cool nights this week though…definitely
Fall weather! Water temps are cooling
down with mid to upper 60s around town. The
midday tides aren’t doing much with the big swing happening overnight. Look for more water movement later this week with
a dawn patrol high tide moving out to a more significant low in the early
afternoon and a little tide push for the evening session.
Slow and messy
start to the week but some fun surf to look forward to this weekend along with
nice weather!
Happy Monday!
