Cheers! We’re on the tail end of this NW wind/short
period groundswell with some smaller SW groundswell. Surf for Friday
looks to be in the waist/chest high range at the north facing beaches with
some of the south facing beaches catching some inconsistent waist high waves. Tides are really moving so they will
definitely be a big favor on size and quality of the waves. Swell backs off further Saturday and Sun with mostly knee/waist high surf. Looks like late
Sunday we’ll see some small NW fill in with only waist high waves on tap. Late Monday
is when we’ll see the next slightly more energetic swell filling in. Surf bumps up Tues morning into the waist/chest range. The swell’s not really aimed at us (think…Hawaii!) but we’ll get
some leftovers. Halloween day will see the swell back off a little but still
waist/chest high surf around the county.
Another NW looks to fill in for Thursday
morning with some decent size…chest high by late morning.
We’ve
got Santa Anas on tap for Friday and Saturday.
East winds will pick up tonight (Thursday) and blow all day in the 10-15mph range with
gusts to 30mph. Should be hot and
dry! Light NE winds Saturday AM turning W
by the late morning then light E again Saturday night. That means some cooler
nighttime temps, even cooler dawn patrols but once that sun hits the horizon it’s
going to warm up into the low 80s for Fri and Sat. The good part is that it makes the water feel
super warm in the morning and even better when the sun comes out. Big tide swings as we head towards Monday’s
full moon. Early morning high slows
things down and the super low mid-afternoon low will probably do a number on the
surf as well. Gotta get it during the
turn-around! Water’s in the high 60s around most of the county…probably cooling
down Sat after a day of gusty offshores (Google “upwelling”).
Snag
the leftovers and get some fun NW swell next week!
I’m
out!
