COLD morning but sunshine and swell on the horizon!

Just a quickie…some lingering S groundswell still on the buoys today with conditions cleaning up throughout the day.  Look for rapidly dropping size tomorrow (Tuesday) but nice (but cold!) east winds for the first part of the day and sunshine.  We still saw some chest/shoulder high waves with HH not out of the question.  Look for clean waist/chest tomorrow morning with less size by sundown.  For the rest of the week we’ll see some short period NW swells Wed and Thurs in the waist high range combo’d with some underlying SW swell.  Small surf Fri (knee high) and then picking up out of the WNW for the weekend…waist/chest.  Looks like another NW weather system making it’s way towards us for the start of next week but we’re also seeing some sizable activity in the southern hemi.  Some nice juicy groundswell brewing for sure!

Weather is looking pretty darn cold for the upcoming dawn patrol.  If you're reading this Monday night you'll be ahead of the game if you throw an extra pair of sock on with your UGGs tomorrow morning.  After the morning thaw things are looking pretty spiffy for the next few days with sunny skies and air temps in the mid to high 60s thru Wed before cooling down again for the end of the week and into the weekend.  More clouds over the weekend and then that potential storm system appears for Monday.  Light easterly and light/moderate (9mph) west winds tomorrow afternoon turning NW for Wed and Thurs.  More patchy fog and clouds for Thurs/Fri as well.  Water temps chilly…mid 50s…55 not uncommon.  Tidal movement is most extreme from the mid-morning high to the negative low mid-afternoon and then there’s a nice turn around push for the evening session.

Looks like tomorrow and Wed will be the ideal surf days this week with Wednesday being the warmest but Tuesday having the tail end of the S and NW combo swells.

Gotta jam like Spam!

Sorry, no ocean notes today…next time, I promise!  If you ever had anything ocean/surf related that you’d like me to post email it to me using the link at the bottom of the page.
