NW wind and then some decent SW

The Northern Hemi is coming thru with a little life to keep our boards wet and arms loose.  We’re seeing some NW wind swell that was actually kinda fun today (it’s all relative right?).  Look for fading NW wind swell in the waist high range Monday with the last bits of it on Tuesday.  We’re also seeing the last tidbits of SW swell with the occasional south swinger sneaking in…much less of that for Monday.  Wednesday is looking small again in the knee/waist high range and then we should see some new medium sized SW swell that will have some decent angle on it so more of the county will see some surf.  The surf should bump up into the wait high range Thursday…inconsistent with the start of the swell and peak Friday morning.  Look for waves in the chest high range and some slightly bigger sets at the best summer spots.  Saturday decreases back into the waist/chest range but slightly more consistency and Sunday looks to be waist high.  The next swell is mighty steep for Monday and looking to pretty much fly right by SD and hit farther up north in the LA area.  I’m not even sure how much of it will hit OC.  The storm that created that swell is pretty close to South America…not a good spot for our swell window.

Pretty consistent weather up ahead…a little evening and morning fog clearing with sunshine midday and mild to moderate winds.  A bit of south winds late tomorrow and Tuesday but otherwise out of the west as usual.  Air temps in the low 70s and water temps in the high 60s and a spotty 70 reading here and there.  Be prepared for some sticky humidity as a nice high pressure system is hanging out with us but drawing up some moisture from Mexico this week.  Some pretty good tide swings through the night and in the early and late hours of the day but midday tides aren’t too crazy.  The Full Moon is Thursday…just in time for the new swell…and we’ll have a lot more water movement even midday by then.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and got some water time in one way or another!

Alooooooooooooha!
