Last of the SW before FLAT then windswell...

We’ve got some fading SW swell and a little NW windswell dribbling in for Friday in the knee high range.  The weekend is looking pretty tiny for surf…a good time to get some snorkeling in as the water clarity is pretty amazing right now. Fishing is pretty good too for that matter.  Anyway, Saturday we’re looking at ankle slappers out of the south. Sunday starts off pretty small with building WNW windswell as a low pressure system moves in.  Surf will pick up in the second half of the day so by sunset we might see some waist/chest high waves.  Definitely WNW windswell for Monday starting off in the chest high range but probably a little lumpy with some moderate west winds on it overnight.  Thing back down over the course of the day but still waist/chest by sunset and into Tuesday.  A little background SW swell should throw some small waves our way but the windswell will dominate.  Wednesday looks like some combo swell with that background SW and windswell both in the waist high range. Thursday looks pretty small with a new SW that might just start showing up later in the day.  Definitely more activity down south than up north these days.

Same story for the next couple of days with patchy fog clearing by late morning and then moving in again overnight.  Air temps in the mid 60s through Sat and then a little cooling and few more daytime clouds for Sun as that system moves in.  It’s really a crap shoot though because it doesn’t really look like that low pressure will make it this far south.   I think it will be mostly sunny Sunday and then cloud up Sunday night.  There are chances of showers Sunday night and into Monday with more sunshine returning Tuesday and a warm up for the end of the week.  Tides are coming off the full moon so we’re seeing some negative dawn patrol lows moving up to a medium midday high and then a medium low in the late afternoon.  Water temps ARE warming up with these south swells.  We’re seeing low 50s up and down the coast with 60-61 degree readings at the offshore buoys.  COME ON SOUTH SWELLS!

Enjoy the long holiday weekend with some fun at the beach…paddle, snorkel or just have a BBQ and enjoy the sunshine midday!

Hopping on outta here!
